got a speeding ticket on the way to uni today...
driving 50+km/h in a school zone which leads to a $100, 1 demerit point fine!! :(
so the story goes that i was happily eating my nutella sandwich on the way to uni... i usually dun eat breakfast and acutally today i left earlier than usual (ie. not in a rush)... so i was going thru the shortcut along fairway and just finished my sandwich... the thing is that it was downhill and just the START of the school zone... by the time i saw him, it was too late.. he signals to pulls me over...
police: ive got you going at 50+. this is a school zone you know? any reason for this?
me: err.. no.. it was downhill but i was already starting to brake!
police: that is still no excuse...
grace thinks *why ask me for a reason then...*
police: do you have ur driver's license?
grace hands it over to him... he walks to the side and writes the infringement...
police: here you go... consider very carefully waht you want to do with this
grace thinks *what else is there to consider? dun i just have to pay it?*
police: have a good day and drive safe
grace thinks *hope you manage to catch more people... NOT!*
ok, so while driving to uni, grace thinks somemore *bummer.. how crappy, now i dun have a clean record... does it affect my insurance? man... so much i could have done with $100.. like gotten a nice pair of white boots, gotten a nice new handbag, sunnies maybe, or EAT!*
take this as a lesson learnt, some may say but the thing is that i dun speed (not intentionally anyway)...
actually it was kinda strange.. i saw anotehr 2 cars got pulled over on the freeway by the cops... i think they are out on full fletch today or somethingg...
blahhh... at least $100 is not that bad now that im workinggg.... but there goes my pay for the weeekkk.... donation to the GSF anyone (Grace Speeding Fund)? :p

SaNdBoaRdINg in LaNcELiN :)
had a really fun day sandboaring at lancelin with jess, joy, joey, julian (wow.. so many J's), william and sam.. we headed out pretty much straight after church to jess's place for a quick lunch (KFC), filled up the tank and then headed off to lancelin...
it was pretty much noise pollution as you can imagine when joy and sam get together...
when we got to lancelin, we got stopped by a boose bus and of course, no drama..
went to the shop to hire the sandboards (2 standing and 2 sitting) and then to the sand dunes!!!
woww... so much sand (duh!) haha.. but it really gets in your eyes and mouth and everywhere esp. when the wind starts blowing => sand storm!! :p it was good fun though... have a sore butt now because i kept not giving up and trying to master the art of sandboarding... hahaha... reminds me of snowboarding.... i miss snoww....
oo.. on the way back we played this game on whoever can not talk the longest wins... and guess who lost? the person who likes saying "i win.. i win.. i win!" :D hahaha...
at nite, we headed to aunty julie's place for dinner coz there was some kinda gathering.. after that we went to northbridge for bbt... realli tired... zZzzz... n also sore buttt...

so...
i've just had my 1st tutorial.. was kinda nervous.. but the key is not to show it.. im not sure if i hid it well though... i think my students find me strange.. czo they dun talk much (shermaine included).. hmm.. not sure if i explained myself well... id unno.. i guess there is always room for improvement.. i think i will be so nervous when the lecturer comes and sits in class to assess my teaching.. how intimidating would that be?!
anywayz, this week is link week too... so its meant to be catering for the all the 1st years staff and faculty members have to wear this name badge and be all approachable and tell students to approach anyone if they are having trouble with uni, settling in, etc... so yes..
thats it for now i guess..
mayeb this will be the start of my academic career? if you could even call it that..
