today i went shoopping at lougheed mall !! it is soooo good... like all these SALES stuff! hahahaa :D im so happy with what i bought.. at least now i have more clothes/tops to wear... n my matching spaghetti strap top with bottom thing! its pink and cute :) hahaahaha :p so happy... n then i saw something that i JUST HAD TO buy for sherlene... it's her green thong/heels shoes.. hahahaa :p good thing it was on sale too though! i shoudl stop going shopping... spending money is not good especially when ur not working.. taht is why i think its good to work.. at least u have extra income to shop; like when i was in perth! but i miss my wardrobe though... all the clothes i have in there, accessories, n stuff.... n my shoe collection *sigh* its ok.. i wun act like a spoilt brat! i will survive! :)

SHOPPING was realy good.. really made my day! :) that is what you call retail therapy! ;) *grinz*

omgg!!!

today i met my longlost primary school friend from singapore!!!! it was so exciting! hahaa.. to think that she still recognised me (apparently i look the same.. dunno if that is good or not!) ^^
but yeh.. i remember her name and she used to be tall in primary school.. i wouldnt be able to recognise her straight off though.. and who would think she migrated to canada and is studying at SFU now! :) hahaaaa... and that we would meet while im on exchange here.. like what is the probability of that happening?! ;) but it is good though.. hehe.. to get in touch again! lolx :D

Woke up at like 12.30pm today!! had some sorta brunch and wanted to do some work but i got distracted.. ended up cleaning my room! so my room is now nice and clean! :) hehe.. quite happy about that..

Went to The Point again todayat 6pm..

Open mic nite again today.. Vanessa sang a song! SHe was really good.. such a nice voice!!! :)

David and i officially broke up as well.. it was 455 days...

I must say it isnt once of my best days today... :/

Went for the Malaysian Singapore Student Club (MSSC) ice breaker outing today.. Braden and Debbie came along with me.. it was quite funny... coz they were the only white people there but it was interesting.. Here are some of the pics we took! hehee..



Romulus and David came back to our rez building and we just chilled.. it was fun! :) I was doing David's accounting homeowkr.. i love accounting at the basic level.. why does it have to get hard?!!


At nite, we went out to eat.. i ate the duck with noodles soup! :p *yummy* I also ate chilli to my heart's content! hehee..


At night was the RHA dance.. it wasnt too exciting but i just had to take a picture of us! :) hehe.. there are more pics on tara's camera regarding that nite.. will post them when iget them.. ;)

Went to Value Village today with Kyle and Debbie.. It is really quite a good bargain place if you knwo how to search for stuff! ;) hehee..


Anyway, when we went there the train was abit spoilt... like they had some problems at some other station so we were sitting on the train waiting for it to function again.. it was quite a long delay... so i just had to take a snapshot! ;)


Did laundry and my black side-button top is kinda wrecked! its all fluffy and got these red fluff dots stuck on it! :(

Hmm.. it is kinda late in the morning (as ironic as it may sound).. but something keeps coming to my mind... just looking at some ppl who are kinda drunk is funny... they seem like they're having fun... but wat really keeps coming to me is this:

i remember the time when God touched me.. it gave you a sense of 'high' and happiness that cannot be describe.. maybe its like alcohol.. but there was something better than that.. because there were no side effects and no hangovers/headaches.. If only He would come visit again... :) and if only others could experience that and judge for themselves which is truly better...

I guess one thing i really love about God and church is this:
No matter how much you've stuff up (even though it may be again and again), God will be there for us to help us through.. He will bear all the hurts, pain and disappointments... Where can you ever find this kinda human love? The church is the place to run to and meet with Him who is always there for you..

This sounds so spiritual-ty.. didnt want to make it like that though.. but we all need love to fill that emptiness and vacuum i think.. I need it....

Hmm.. didnt do anything much..
But i took a pic in the lecture hall because one class finished early.. acutally i forgot the batteries for my camera and so i had to borrow the batteries from the remote control there.. hahhaa :D

SATURDAY...
it was tara's birthday... so we went out for lunch at some place at metrotown..


hmm.. after that was shopping abit.. i bought a black skirt.. its pretty cool... considering the fact i dun have much clothes here.. i really do miss my wardrobe in perthhh.. and my shoes.. do u know i have not worn heels since i came here coz i didnt bring any! i should have brought some from singapore instead of leaving it back there!!!! grr.. i should have taken a pic of my wardrobe before i came here so i can stare and look at it... im getting abit sick of the clothes im wearing now.. oh well.. wat can i do? unless i get someone to ship all my clothes over.. *ponders thought* haha :p

at nite, went to a cultural fest held by a church.. there were quite a number of ppl that went together.. it was fun! hehee... like $5 for a card of 15 tokens and u can use the tokens to buy food.. like 2 tokens for nonya laksa, 3 tokens for beef redang and nice, 1 token for a curry puff, 3 tokens for 2 satay sticks.. those were wat i ate! *yummy* there were also these performances.. one of them was funny.. seeing these uncles trying to dance! haha :p that was pretty cute..

went for the choir practice today! hahaa.. it was quite fun.. singing n meeting ppl i guess but then i dun think i will go back again.. but the thing is, coz we had to introduce ourselves and say where we are from.. they now know that there is this aussie girl coz everyone else was pretty much local.... *sigh* wat to do now? i think i still wont join them tho..

yay! i finished classes for the day already... i might go to the gym again later.. not too sure about that though... but this pic is for japelin (yes! i did bring it to canada.. you all saw me carry it into the plane!!)

had the longest day of classesss... can u believe it? 5h IN A ROW! and then later went to my friend's class.. it was more interesting or maybe it was the fact that it wasnt really my class.. haha :p

played capture the flag! here is a pic of the our 7th floor hangout group before the game.. our building (C) had to wear the orange tag thing.. it was quite fun running around (and getting caught all the time! ;) lolx :D).. the other pic is during the start of the game.. and might i also add that our buidling team won!! hahaa... i love winning! ;)

we watched the girl next door that night actually.. coz the other night we couldnt download it properly!

you know.. a thought just came to me today as well.. i should be the official photographer for this whole place.. im taking so many pictures! hahaha :D

if any of u have been following my blog u would remember that guy who was meant to pay me the other $60.. was meant to meet him today but nooooo... he didnt turn up! i dunno wat to feel... so frustrated and also like ugh!!! 'not happy jan!'.. somemore i was meant to meet him in the morning and he wasted wat could have been more sleep! sheeshhh... maybe i should stop being so nice otherwise i would be taken advantage of!
but i dunno.. i was still thinking maybe he got held up by the rain or something? hmm.. but i waited 15min! *sigh* maybe im just trying to comfort myself?

just finished a class.. another 5h worth of classes later.. but meanwhile i needa do my readings for tom and tutorial assignment due tomorrow! eeks!

had the best meal today on campus (so far that is.. i hope the best is yet to come)!! it was so *yummy* compared to everything else.. chicken and mushroom pasta! i had to take a picture of it..


at night was open mic nite.. btw, that is like anyone who wants to perform something can perform... some were pretty talented! ;) and it was in front of my building... it was quite fun until i got my laptop 'stolen'.. u see.. i was on the net using wireless as well as downstairs listening to the music.. arh well... it was good fun and good company!

didnt end up watching the girl next door but men (maid, insider joke) of honour instead last nite.. then after that we were playing N-64.. it was so much fun.. the tennis! hahahaa.... then we got really hungry.. its times like this i wished i realli had a car!! i miss my car.. *sobz*

but yeh.. today kinda slept in.. then rang David coz i thought he was going to call me but there was some sorta miscom.. haha :D went to watch a football game!! hehehe :D it was a differnt experience i guess.. the first canadian football game i have ever watched! hahaa.. the cheerleaders arent as good as those in bring it on.. oh well... its like i could imitate their moves! de------fence!we want the-ball! S-F-U! hahaha.. ;)

hmm.. was so tired taht i slept on the bus on the way back.. later some of them went to watch the ice hockey game... canada vs check (i know its spelt wrong) republic.. canada won! haha..

dinner (some very interesting dinner conversations.. lolx :D) and then later i think we are going to play more N-64. The 7th floor really rocks! the view is so nice too!! How unfair......

i should really do my assignment which is due on tuesday! ugh.. why am i so slack!!

went shopping at metrotown today! was so cool! bought quite a few stuff and food (instant noodles)! hehee.. but what i really like of what i bought today is this:

was going to go to an international boat cruise but then its wet and windy so decided not to go but stay back and watch a movie "the girl next door" dunno if its good ;)

Today had class in the moring.. hahaa :D one hour.. the lecturer keeps diverting to other topics and not lecturing properly.. its abit annoying and i dunno how to take notes now.. im so used to powerpoint slides and then ujust make a little additional notes.. but no.. that's not how they work here... you have to take your own notes while the lecturer makes his own notes up on the spot! grr!

oh wel.. in the afternoon, i went shopping with tiammi downtown.. haha :D we ended up buying only stationary and snacks to eat... she bought a nice mini skirt though.. but she has really nice legs to wear it! *grins* but too bad everything else isnt really on sale... :( took a pic of me at the ONLY AX store in Canada :)




At nite we just went to a chinese takeway type place.. its better than the uni food i must say!

hey! guess wat guyz? i went to the GYM today. who would have thought that i would actually go and exercise and workout! hahaa.. tried out the stairmaster machine and altogther i climbed 49stairs or something! hehee.. was on it for 10min! actually i was very tired by the end of it.. later, we tried out the treadmill.. hehee.. on it for 15min and then a 5min cooldown! hahaa.. altogther i lost 153.9calories.. its not alot huh.. but i 'ran' 1.53.. im not sure if its km or miles.. but hopefully miles! hahaaha.. coz that would have been longer then! lolx :D but yeh.. at then end of it i was soooo dead! hahaa.. took a shower and then went to sleep before eating dinner... and a sundae! *yummy* had a floor meeting but that wasnt too interesting... i guess i got to meet the other people living on my floor... hmmz....

classes started today... no tutes this week tho! hahaa :D had educational psychology and intro to finance lecture.. the latter lecture was 3h! i was sleepy in the first hour.. then i started typing on my laptop so it wasnt too bad later.. i quite like the topic acutally.. quite interesting i think... n maybe coz half the stuff he taught today i already knew.. i think its just an intro tho.. so yahz... lectures are more interactive than in australia.. like people just shout out answers or ask questions there and then.. there is always some sorta contribution from the class... and lecture number size is smaller i guess too..

but the queues were so long! people waiting to get into the bookstore! look! its actually a circular building and it went all around!

Went to Stanley Park today... went rollerblading there actually.. its like the swan river equilavent.. more beautiful though.. :) rollerbladed around the WHOLE park... so that was quite an achievenment for me.. although i did fall in the beginning like after crossing the road had to step up to the pavement... it was funny.. but it made a hole in my pants! hahaa :p little one near the knee... before that was hanging around downtown.. or walking from downtown to there actually.. hahaa.. that's where i took the pic of the whale.. lolx :D there are acutally lots all around!






after blading i bought my first clothing in canada! hahaa.. trackpants.. its like ~$11 with the canadian taxes and so around $13 aussie.. quick good i thot.. was a closing down sale.. hehee :D quite good.. maybe it might actually inspire me to go to the gym! admission is free here! its part of the school fees and student services fee we have to pay unfortunately but also fortunately! :p


had dinner at subway... coz we didnt think we were going to make it back to the hostel for free food in time... wanted to take a pic there but my camera ran out of battery! o well.... had a shower n now posting...

Went out with aunty beatrice, her husband n daughter... went to church and then they brought me to some yummy vietnamese restaurant! ehhee.. good thing coz i didnt have dinner in the niet.. was quite hungry actually!

At night was that performance.. where they played music without proper instruments.. it was quite interesting.. but after awhile it got abit boring.. maybe coz we were standing.. but yeh..



After that was the dance.. wasnt too exciting at all... left at about 9.30pm.. but on the way back i met my friends.. so we went to his room to chat the nite away... by the time i came back to my room it was 12+.. hahaha... the guy is the 'singaporean' that i know.. well. he's canadian and singaporean and he cant go back to singpaore now because he didnt do his NS... so yahz..

Today went to Lougheed Mall to shop today.. hahaa.. they have shops like Walmart, London Drugs, Gap and other also Australian shops like The body shop, Michael Hill Jewelers and MORNING GLORY!!! hahahaa :p i had to take a picture there! lolx :D
but got some essentials like an umbrealla, some postcards, shampoo/conditioner, mic adapter thing and tissues! hahaa... so tempted to go shopping n buy other things but i was good and had self control! :p seeee... im not that bad afterall! :)
At nite we had some monte carlo casino thing.. like 'gambling' with this fake money.. like they set up blackjack, roulette, poker and texas dunno wat game booths.. it was quite fun.. hahaa :D won quite alot of money! hehee.. then at the last game i just bet n lost most of it away... oh well.. it was fake money anyway! i had fun.. hehehe :p This thing was meant to be a dressup thing but nooooo.. i didnt bring anything to wear did i?! i shoud have brought my black dress! o well.. i went in boots, my denium skirt n the black top i bought from singapore... wasnt that freezing as i thought it would be actually! hahaa :p it was good... then after that we had some performance done by i dunno the name of the group but apparently they are quite famous in vancouver.. but yeh.. impromtu perfomrances.. it was so funny and so cool! hahaa. :D i fell though and grazed my knee while climbing the stairs... so ouch!
Now back in my room.. just went to my friends room to fix her computer.. hahaa :p felt quite good.. im not that computer dumb afterall! :p coz she was having problems with the internet.. so i helped her to hook it up to the net and change her settings and stuff.. so yahz! its cool! :D

today i won the parking permit thing valued at $100... i dun have a car so i will sell it to this guy for $100 loh.. actually i sold it already... he gave me $40 and said he will give me the money another day... he said he will email me where to meet,etc.. except now i kinda realise if he doesnt contact me, then there goes the other $60.. so he better contact me! but yay! that is $100 cash that God just provided for me... God's favour! :) coz there is also this draw where u get to win the contents of the IKEA room here in one of the dorms in hostel.. and last nite i was just praying that I will win it... then if there are stuff that i dun need, i can always sell it off.. but then i dunno it also just occured to me that i shouldnt be so selfish... so i also prayed that if someone else needed it more than me than nvm loh... bless them! So maybe God honoured that and showed His favour on me in winning the draw! lolx :D

actually i can sell the permit for more because it is really scarse to get and how parking works here is the 'lottery system' where all the names go into the lottery and then whoever wins the lottery gets to buy the parking permit.. so yeh.. other ppl are selling permits on the net for up to $300! but oh well, it doesnt matter... if we are blessed, we can also bless others rite!

Quite an eventful day today..
breakfast was early at 7.30am.. but i got up even earlier to go on msn... was chatting with sherlene zac and david.. that was cool.. sherlene sounds like she's having lotsa fun! lolx :D
after breaky was orientation... did all these ice breaker stuff, went for a tour, play some game or challenge thing, also went for some boring talk! oh well... lunch was in between tho..
rest for a little, dinner.. then went for the residence tour...
but i think the highlight was burnaby mountain park it is so pretty! Wished i could post pix for everyone to see here... but yeh. its like a King's Park i guess but i think it's prettier... or maybe coz i've been to king's park quite a few times.. but yeh... it's up on the mountain and so it overlooks vancouver city and this graville island or something.. so yeh.. then they have totum pole there and some other japanese stick things... n some nice wildflowers (ok.. maybe not wild) coz they looked planted and arranged nicely.. so yeh.. took quite alot of photos.. so touristy! everyone just laughs at me! *blushes*.. they do.. they think im relaly funny or something...
after that was coffee house.. like drink coffee, etc.. n see all these ppl perform either sing, play an insturment, do both, dance, etc,... hahahaa :D n now back on the net... i love the internet! hhahaha :D

grrr.. this place is pretty boring and id un know what to do...
no friends... no one.. everyone looks like they have their little group already.. like friends.. or actually everyone had their family check in for them or something.. they brought like a whole computer, tv and everything!
i think i need a printer! told u i should have brought it over from perth but everyone was like 'errr grace'
oh well..
orientation group meeting at 5pm.. n i dun even know where to meet! in front of the green building courtyard... very vague....

just moved into my uni housing... n unpacked... feel so sad and lonelyyyy... :'(
i was just thinking.. when Jesus was on earth do you think he was also quite lonely? like he didnt really have much friends rite... except the disciples.. but then again, they were not always there for Him...
hmmz....
